ABOUT US

Think Smart shows you a 'day in the life' in any given career. We interview people about the problems they solve during their workdays, and turn their experiences into quizzes. Take a quiz to discover your skills and interests, and sample the life of a doctor, a journalist or an entrepreneur.

Our content is useful to students, jobseekers and current employees.

Through interactive problem-solving, we can help you find the right jobs and learning opportunities to take your career to the next level.

Who we are

Rohin aggarwal
Rohin Aggarwal
Founder & CEO

Rohin is passionate about increasing social mobility, particularly in the education area. Rohin’s work experience spans asset management, public policy and management consulting. He has been a governor at one of the UK’s largest further education colleges for four years.

Rohin holds an MA in Economics from King's College, University of Cambridge and an MBA from INSEAD where he lived both in France and Singapore.

Favourite subject at school:
French (but don’t expect much from me nowadays!)

If I’d had access to Think Smart as a student…
I would not have focussed all my energies on equities trading - perhaps I would have considered something more creative.

First job:
Burger King

Patrick gleeson
Patrick Gleeson
CTO

Patrick has worked in software and startups for the last decade. His experience spans back- and front-end development, product ownership, team leadership and project management. He has also worked as a sound designer, an 'Interpretive Naturalist' at an aquarium, and a carpenter.

Patrick holds a degree in Classics and Philosophy from Cambridge, and another one in Theatre Technology from LAMDA. He once built an animatronic robot octopus that played the xylophone.

Favourite subject at school:
Biology. Maybe if I could do it all again I'd be a marine zoologist.

If I’d had access to Think Smart as a student…
I wouldn't have wasted so much time applying for jobs in advertising, strategic consultancies, market research, politics, or all the other careers it turned out I didn't actually want.

First job:
Assistant stage manager at a pub theatre.

Gurjinder dhaliwal
Gurjinder Dhaliwal
Business Development Associate

Gurjinder is passionate about social mobility. He has a background in management consulting, and has helped many businesses and public bodies better serve their customers and citizens.

Outside of work, he is involved in party politics and volunteering.

Originally from the West Midlands, Gurjinder holds a degree in International Politics from King’s College London. He also studied abroad at the University of California, Berkeley where he made the most of their liberal arts curriculum by taking classes in five different disciplines.

Favourite subject at school:
English language (words are cool!)

If I’d had access to Think Smart as a student…
I would have been able to understand what the buzzwords used by large corporates and graduate employers meant, which would have made finding the right career much easier!

First job:
A small business I created in my teens buying and selling merchandise online.

Katie Sola
Content Creator & Editor

Katie is an experienced journalist who's worked at Mashable, the Huffington Post and Forbes. She's interviewed astrophysicists, dog breeders, house flippers, refugee cooks and top chefs about their jobs. She holds a degree in Comparative Literature and Middle East Studies from Brown University.

Outside of work she consumes novels at a breakneck speed and practices martial arts.

Favourite subject at school:
English, absolutely.

If I’d had access to Think Smart as a student…
I would have known to focus my energies on pursuing a writing career from the beginning, rather than interning in fields that just weren't right for me.

Zach
Zach Beecher
Content Development Associate

Zach served in the 82nd Airborne Division in the U.S. Army for the last four years as a logistics officer where he deployed to Iraq and led an advise and assist team working with Iraqi forces. Leaving his questionable love for jumping out of airplanes behind, Zach is now a Global Grant Scholar of the Rotary International Foundation at King’s College London. He's studying to better understand the intersections of conflict and development as well as how to stretch the exchange rate.

Zach successfully, despite his best efforts, graduated from Princeton on time with a degree in Public Policy. He will tell you he loves to talk and will then be happy to tell you all about it.

Favourite subject at school:
History – nothing is quite as funny as realising that we’ve somehow all made it this far.

If I’d had access to Think Smart as a student…
I would have been more deliberate in thinking about the kinds of problems I like to help solve.

First job:
Janitor
